Founded in 2011 by Selvigracia, a resilient woman with a deep connection to the land, our journey began on a modest one-acre plot and has since blossomed into a thriving 100-acre ecosystem of herbal plantations, fruit orchards, and organic agriculture.
With over 18 years of hands-on experience in herbal cultivation, Selvigracia leads Elshadai with a vision to heal people and the planet. Her mission is not just to grow plants—but to grow purpose, health, and community.
At Elshadai, we cultivate a wide range of medicinal herbs, botanical teas, avocados, and exotic vegetables, using time-tested natural methods blended with innovative organic practices. Our farms are more than just agricultural spaces—they are living ecosystems that promote biodiversity, clean food, and holistic well-being.

Our Founder
Selvi Gracia – Visionary Founder
Selvi Gracia, born in a small hamlet in the
Western Ghats of the Nilgiris, has always had a deep connection to nature,
flora, and fauna. With over 18 years of experience in sustainable agriculture
and medicinal plant cultivation, she envisioned a mission to protect nature and
promote eco-friendly living.
Her leadership gave birth to Elshadai Herbal Foundation, a hub for:
- Avocado plantations
- Exotic herbs and spices (Ashwagandha, Holy Basil, Stevia, Turmeric)
- Botanical teas crafted from indigenous and exotic plant varieties
Selvi combines traditional wisdom with modern farming techniques, ensuring
sustainable, high-yield, and organic cultivation that benefits both investors
and the environment.
Siva Kumar – Co-Founder & Rural Scientist
Siva Kumar, a hardcore software network
professional, worked with several multinational organizations before dedicating
himself to nature. Born amid the green canopy of the Nilgiris’ Blue Mountains,
his upbringing gave him a deep respect for Mother Nature.
Inspired by his daughter’s dream and his wife Selvi’s vision, he left his IT
career to co-found Elshadai Herbal Foundation and to support the development of
Dr. Vini Herbotic Nourishment Centre.
He invested all his resources, skills, and determination to:
- Build eco-friendly, biodegradable, and natural product ventures
- Promote organic farming, handicrafts, and natural textiles
- Encourage innovation and research among students in eco-product development
Siva Kumar aspires to be a rural scientist, fostering creativity and
sustainability while protecting the ecosystem. His drive is fueled not just by
business, but by the joy of helping children and preserving nature for future
generations.
Mr. Nelson Devaraj – The Backbone of the Project
With over 30 years of expertise in
cultivation and medicinal plant research, Mr. Nelson Devaraj is the backbone of
Elshadai Herbal Foundation.
- He is the only expert in the Nilgiris with deep knowledge of converting
medicinal plants into value-added products.
- He has guided and supported more than 5 Ph.D. scholars in the Nilgiris.
- He pioneered the tea revolution in the Nilgiris, being the first to create
handmade Botanical Teas from local herbs and plants.
- His unmatched expertise in herbal innovation and product development makes
him a cornerstone of the foundation’s mission.
With his contribution, Elshadai Herbal Foundation stands strong as both a
cultivation hub and a centre of research, innovation, and value addition.
